Incidentally HELP DESTA isn't very helpful.< The following reply probably isn't the answer you want...D DESTA Director is a hunk of Java that is part of the WEBEM/WEBES Hstuff, and there's a run-away problem that's been occasionally seen and Greported -- first report I can recall was probably three or four years Hago. Check the ECOs for OpenVMS, for Java, and for the WEBEM / WEBES / IHPSEA / CA stuff. (I do not recall seeing a specific fix targeting this Flooping problem, but then I also haven't poked around on ITRC looking for one.)G IIRC, there is/was also a mechanism available within the WEBES PCSI Iinstallation kit where you could ask it to only define the WEBES-related ?logical names, and to not restart the DESTA Director on reboot.A Failing resolution via ECO and assuming that you are not in a Iposition to more directly engage the HP support folks that own the DESTA IDirector pieces, there was a suggestion made by Robert Fairfield a while Iback around letting DESTA Director start up and configure itself and the Grun-time, and to then issue a DESTA STOP command to shut the component Gdown. Or reconfigure the WEBES kit's installation environment to only define the logical names.> Do I really need DESTA.F That's up to you and your environment, obviously.
