If you don't have a support contract with Oracle, go to www.jcc.com and sign up for the Rdb mailing list. The systemdisk becomes unavailable, during RL02 activity and won't show up again until all has been power cycled, from the console the RA92 show's as "-?" I guess it some kind of conflict between the controllers but it's strange that it doesn't show up earlier then. It's VMS version 6.2 and unit's are DUB0 (RA92) and DLA0 (RL02), there are also RD54's as DUA0...2. ^P.Lj ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Nov 2007 02:08:55 -0800 From: H Vlems Subject: Re: Mylex 960 question Message-ID: <1194775735.953680.66700@k79g2000hse.googlegroups.com> On 10 nov, 20:58, H Vlems wrote: > On 10 nov, 16:11, Jur van der Burg <"lddriver at digiater dot nl"> > wrote: > > > > > Or boot from a VMS installation cd and excute the swxcr software > > from VMS. The procedure that I followed is this: 1) hook up a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the Alpha 2) power on 3) >>> show console ! must be set to graphics >>> arc !switch to alphabios mode 4) use the Utilities option and select "run a maintenance program" 5) enter: ra200rcu.exe 6) follow the instructions on page 3-13 (ch. 3.4.4) in the RAID Array 230 configuration manual. It's as simple as that :-) Of course it turned out to be a little more complicated because the ARC software wouldn't load the RA200RCU.EXE utility. The first suspect was the floppy itself, though it could be read on a PC. A copy failed and also a third one with a fresh copy of RA200RCU.EXE from another source. Hardware failure? No, it appeared that the flat cable was no longer connected to the floppy drive. But it works, thanks again! Hans ------------------------------ End of INFO-VAX 2007.618 ************************
