INTERLEAF ARCHIVING TOOLS The process of archiving Interleaf documents has been made simple through the use of LISP procedures which are accessed via Interleaf's menu system. We currently use this system at AiResearch Tucson Div. using an erasable optical disk drive as the storage media. Although these procedure have been extensively tested and proven to work at our site, There are no guaranties that they will work in your environment without modification. Each file contains path names and device names that you must change to reflect actual paths and devices used at your site. These will appear as "ddcu:[directory]". Support for these procedures is limited, But please feel free to call if minor problems arise. Also feel free to send any comments or improvements you may have. The process is as follows: 1) First select files to be archived within a container. This can be done using an automated procedure in the Custom menu that selects files by time since modified, or by selecting files manually. The automated procedure is optional and only provided as an aid in selecting files you wish to archive. 2) Once all of the files you wish to archive within a container have been selected, use the Custom > Compile List in the pull down menu to compile a listing of the files to be archived. 3) Repeat the first two steps within each container you wish to archive. 4) When the compiled list is complete, Just use the Custom > Archive selection in the pull down menu to submit the archive process. 5) The archive process is done through a batch procedure which can be modified to fit individual needs. Specific set up instructions have been included in each file. Within the .lsp files, comments are preceded with double semi-colons ";;". You may wish to delete these comments from the working file.
