Welcome to the news facility!!

This facility is provided as a general information center for the VAX user 
community. Any registered user may read and/or send messages to this center 
using the NEWS utility.

NEWS is similar to MAIL, but uses a smaller set of commands and should 
be easier to use than the previous NEWS which used the MAIL utility. This 
version should also correct the file sharing problems previously experienced.
 
For more information about the commands and the use of NEWS, enter the command
HELP at the NEWS> prompt.

Submittals appear immediately in NEWS. Once submitted, you have until midnight 
to delete an item. After that, items will remain until their expiration date. 
If you need to have an item deleted or modified after this grace period, please 
contact any of the systems staff. For more information about submittals, ask for
