But the file name of the font is not the font name. The font name is written in the first block of the font file. We can get the font name of DECwindow by $ set def sys$common:[sysfont.decw.75dpi] $ dir $ dump/block=(start:1,count=1) font_file_name For example, the font name of the font file TIMES_BOLD10.DECW$FONT is -Adobe-Times-Bold-R-Normal--10-100-75-75-P-57-ISO8859-1 If we want use this font in the xterm on VAX-Station as a x-server, following command xterm -fn -Adobe-Times-Bold-R-Normal--10-100-75-75-P-57-ISO8859-1 on the unix client (e.g. Sun) will work with a TCP/IP transport on the VAX Station (eg. CMU-TEK IP etc.) (2) In VAX/VMS V5.4 and later version, there is a file FONTS.ALIAS in DECW$EXAMPLE directory. This file contains the font name for the DEC-windows. Could anyone supply this information for fonts of DEC-windows ? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Takashi Ichihara RIKEN (The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research) 2-1, Hirosawa, Wako, Saitama, 351-01, Japan (Internet) Ichihara@rik835.riken.go.jp (Hepnet) RIK835::Ichihara (41911::Ichihara) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
