The Hayes factory defaults won't work on VMS systems. Here's a setup for the Accura 14400 that I know works: CURLY> kermit set modem hayes set line modem_line set speed 19200 C-Kermit 5A(189), 30 June 93, OpenVMS VAX Type ? or HELP for help C-Kermit>set line accura C-Kermit>conn Connecting to _CURLY$LTA502:, speed 19200. The escape character is ^\ (ASCII 28). Type the escape character followed by C to get back, or followed by ? to see other options. If you want the modem to *always* be in autoanswer, you can use AT&W to write the new settings to the modem's memory. Then whenever you power up the modem, it will already be in autoanswer. Don't forget to add, "set term/perm/dialup/modem ttax", where x is the modem's unit number, if you want VMS to allow a login when the modem answers. > Also when should I type "ATS0=4"?, I tried C-kermit> set ATS0=4, > kermit does not like it. > Sorry, I assumed you realized that the "AT" command was for the modem, not for Kermit. You need to issue a "connect" command to Kermit. Everything you type after that will go to the modem. -- ======================================================================== Wayne Sewell, Tachyon Software Consulting |wayne@tachyon.com >>mail to pgpkey@tachyon.com for pgp key |(214)-553-9760 Key fingerprint = 77 A5 C1 56 9C ED F1 8E 89 F9 27 3C 86 79 F7 1B ======================================================================== Bluto, at Animal House toga party: "Have a brew.
