The book has ISBN number 1-55558-059-9, was written by Ruth E. Goldenberg and Lawrence H. Kenah. The book is published by Digital Press. I am not aware of an update to the book that takes the changes made for Alpha into consideration, but I would not be surprised to find one. I've had my copy of this book for several years now. (It was absolutely essential for my work on the OpenVMS Debugger.) Things did change a little for Alpha, so be aware of that. When in doubt, go to the appropriate include files on the system and double-check. With access to the VMS sources, you might also poke around the Debugger sources for more information. You'll want to look at DSTRECRDS.SDL if you're at all interested in the symbol table format. Note the disclaimer at the head of the file! There's also code in the Debugger that looks at the image, so you may be able to find out what you need from that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeff Diewald EASYNET: VIRRUS::DIEWALD DECladebug group INTERNET: diewald@virrus.zko.dec.com Digital Equipment Corp. You're much more likely to get an answer if you put "Debug" somewhere in your subject line.
