FreeCiv Alpha Centauri For OpenVMS.

Based On Work Done By: Roger Tucker

Patch Kit & Documentation By: Robert Alan Byer

After working with Roger Tucker on the FreeCiv port and getting it out to the public I was looking for something else to do. One day I was looking around the FreeCiv WWW page and noticed that someone was doing a port of FreeCiv to incorporate features from the Sid Meier's Alpha CentauriTM game.

Since the FreeCiv Alpha Centauri is based on a previous version of FreeCiv it wasn't hard to incorporate what had been done with the FreeCiv OpenVMS patches into the FreeCic Alpha Centauri set.

Since FreeCiv Alpha Centauri is still in the development stage it still has bugs and is still a few versions behind the main FreeCiv distribution. They are trying to get caught up and have their changes incorported into the main FreeCiv source set, but that hasen't happened yet.

If you follow the directions below, you should have no problems in getting it up and running on your machine. Comments, bug reports, suggestions are welcome, flames will just be ignored.
