I believe the Innosoft LDAPv3 client library API is shipping with VMS 7.3
by prior arrangement with Innosoft (i.e. Innosoft signed a deal with Compaq
to bundle their API, before they were absorbed by Sun/iPlanet).  Not having
seen 7.3 yet, I can't confirm this.

I built the Perl module using the University of Michigan client library.
It's not commercially supported but it does work.

Try the UMich one, which you can pick up from http://ftp.vsm.com.au/ldap/
If you need help setting it up, contact me privately.  This API is described
in "Programming Directory-Enabled Applications with Lightweight Directory
Access Protocol" by Tim Howes and Mark Smith.
