>The file contains information specific to OpenVMS users of theEasysoft ODBC-ODBC Bridge.A note about this version-------------------------=At this time (20-Apr-2000) only the client side of the OOB isEavailable for OpenVMS/alpha and it is beta software. The distributionDis simply a zipped up directory tree and there is no installation asCsuch. You should also note that much of the documentation is biasedtowards UNIX or Windows.?All these issues will be rectified before the official release.8You can download the full PDF or HTML documentation from ftp://ftp.easysoft.com/docs/oob/OS/TCPIP requirements---------------------CThis version of OOB has been tested on OpenVMS 7.2 and UCX 5.0 (andE5.0A). It may or may not work on previous versions of OpenVMS (it hasEbeen reported to work on 7.1) and UCX but for earlier versions of theEOS you may need the C runtime library from us (let us know if this isFthe case). Easysoft are working on greater support for OS versions andFTCPIP stacks but there is no quotable time frame for this. We are also'looking at DECNET but the same applies.EPlease see the examples section below to see how you can test if this;beta release is compatible with your machine configuration.DWe have recently (May 2001) had reports of successful operation with9OpenVMS 7.1 and Process Software's Multinet V4.2 Rev A-X.Examples--------EThe examples subdirectory contains a few C and Perl examples of usingAthe OOB. If your VMS machine is connected to the Internet you canFbuild and run the demo.c program which connects to our demo OOB ServerEand retrieves data from it. For this beta release we would appreciatefeedback on running:[1] demo.exe (prebuilt by us)?[2] building demo.exe by running build.com and then running the demo.exe program.AIf you are not connected to the Internet you need to download andBinstall the OOB Server for another operating system (e.g. Windows)@and create a data source for the ODBC driver you want access to.
