Hi Phillip, Information on the latest version of Ghostview (gv 3.4.3) is at http://wwwthep.physik.uni-mainz.de/~plass/gv/ You'll have to compile it (and Xaw3d) yourself, but (for VMS at least) everything you need (assuming you have a C compiler!) is there and works well for me. Information on the latest version of Ghostscript (gs 4.03) is at http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/index.html Incidentally, that site mentions an ancient version of Ghostview. The latest version is much much improved. I compiled gs 4.01 with only a few fixes for VMS required. I can't remember whether these fixes were included in 4.03 (I did report them at the time), which I haven't bothered to upgrade to (it's not much changed I think). Anyway, if you see any of the following problems still in gs 4.03, I can send you the fixes. 1) Anything (eg. PDF->PS conversion) that attempts to create a new file with "(w) file" fails, unless a version of the file already exists. 2) vms.mak selects old versions of LIBPNG and ZLIB. 3) There are a few compilation warnings that can probably be ignored. There may be precompiled versions out there somewhere, but maybe not the latest versions (and Ghostview in particular has been improving rapidly :-) ). Unless it's difficult for you, it's probably best to compile them yourself. Happy haunting!
