Article 171354 of comp.os.vms: Wolfgang J. Moeller informs me that there is a magical function present in OpenVMS Xlib for handling the "can't use select() because we have even flags and not file descriptors" problem. It is: XMultiplexInput( long num_displays, Display *displays[/*num_displays*/], unsigned long ef_mask, unsigned long timeout, unsigned long options, long *retval_pointer) Could somebody in the DECwindows group please tell us: 1. Should we be using this function? 2. Is it intentionally undocumented? (The only mention of it that mere mortals will encounter is the declarations of the options bits in X.h - there is no prototype for the function itself. A search of the entire DECwindows bookshelf on the documentation CD found nothing.) 3. Is XMultiplexInput supported? Will it continue to be supported? 4. If not, what equivalent function should be used at the X (not Xt) level?
