This causes problems when transferring a saveset via, say a PC. o With FTPFIXUP the VMSBackup saveset file attributes can be restored on the target VMS machine. The saveset can be freely FTP'd to any number of non VMS machines. It can also be placed on a non VMS FTP server. o Download the correct FTPFIXUP_XXX.EXE:- FTPFIXUP_VAX.EXE for VAX FTPFIXUP_AXP.EXE for Alpha and copy:- $ COPY FTPFIXUP_XXX.EXE SYS$COMMON:[SYSEXE] o Establish as a foreign command:- $ FTPFIXUP :== $FTPFIXUP_XXX.EXE o To restore the saveset file attributes type the command:- $ FTPFIXUP your_vms_backup_saveset.bck o To enable correct downloading of VMSBackup savesets by NetScape & MSIE (or any binary ftp) you can give your saveset an extention of .EXE (instead of .BCK). o I wrote FTPFIXUP and it is available free from:- ftp.pins.co.uk/faya/pub alanfay@pins.co.uk OVMS/WNT TCP/IP CXX Contract Programmer
