Before installing this program, Windows95 users must take the following steps or this program will not work.

1. Obtain and install the Microsoft Winsock2 upgrade from www.microsoft.com. Legion v2.1 relies on the advanced functions that this version of the winsock provides.

*** This version of the winsock may be incompatible with some network applications. Read the documentation provided by Microsoft before proceeding. ***

2. Obtain and install the Microsoft Dial-up Networking 1.2 upgrade from www.microsoft.com. The file name is msdun12.exe. This will allow the use of remote IP addresses during scans rather than remote computer names.

Windows95 and Windows98 users must also configure Windows to allow access to shared resources. To do this, take the following steps:

1. Open the network control panel.
2. If "Client for Microsoft Networks" is not on the list of network components, click "add", select "client", locate "Client for Microsoft Networks" and follow the instructions.
3. If "File and Printer sharing for Microsoft Networks" is not installed, click "add", select "service", locate "File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks" and follow the instructions.

** WARNING **
This service will allow you to share your resources to the world through the internet. Make sure that you do not share ANY of your resources (disks, folders, and printers) without a strong password. If you're not sure about what you're doing, talk to your ISP about security or read one of the many texts and white papers available at rhino9.ml.org and www.microsoft.com.
** WARNING **

NT users:

If you're using NT, you can figure this out on your own. If you can connect your NT box to the internet, it should work.
