The terse Windows NT PATHWORKS dept
 The Question is:

Can I use Pathworks to bridge my NT LAN to the VAX system? Is TCP/ip supported?

 The Answer is:

The OpenVMS Wizard is not sure what you mean by "bridge my NT LAN to
the VAX system", but will share some information that might be helpful.

PATHWORKS allows OpenVMS systems to particiapate in Windows NT domains as
either Primary Domain Controller (PDC) or Backup Domain Controller (BDC).
PATHWORKS also supports trusts, so that users from other domains can be
granted access to resources on the OpenVMS server using credentials from
the remote domain. Thus, by either having PATHWORKS join your existing
Windows NT domain or by establishing a trust to the existing Windows NT
domain, you can use PATHWORKS to share OpenVMS based file and print
services in much the same manner that NT servers share their file and
  print resources.

Yes, TCP/IP protocol is supported. There is no need to run DECnet,
nor any other non-Microsoft software on the Microsoft clients.

Other approaches that do not involve Microsoft-proprietary networking
protocols include the industry-standard NFS disk services protocol, and
alternative networking protocols such as the Windows NT Disk Services
  for OpenVMS package.
