The terse feelings of disk storage loss dept
 The Question is:

I have two Alpha 4100 server here and running OpenVMS v7.2 as cluster system.
I feel I lost some hard disk space in one system. How can I diagnose or which
command I should use to detect the hard drives?

 The Answer is :

Do you have any evidence of this reputed loss of disk storage
capacity, other than this unspecified "feeling"? Any commands
used? Any particular symptoms? Any command displays used?
(Without additional and specific details, the OpenVMS Wizard
can only provide guesses and general answers.)

The most common tool used for analyzing the OpenVMS disk file
  structure is the ANALYZE/DISK[/REPAIR] tool.

For details of bad block handling on disk devices, please see
topic (6926). (This is likely entirely unrelated to the question,
but is mentioned here for completeness.)

For potentially-related information on the disk volume structure
and particularly on the SHOW DEVICE disk capacity display, on the
DIRECTORY command, and on alias entries, please see topic (4080).

The terminology "detect the hard drives" does not have particular
meaning in the context of this question, unless it is a reference
to the normal and expected I/O device autoconfiguration sequence
  performed by OpenVMS.

If you are unfamiliar with typical OpenVMS operations, commands,
and system management tasks, please avail yourself of the OpenVMS
User's Guide and/or the OpenVMS System Manager's documentation.
