  The terse CD-R file transfer dept
 The Question is:

How do I write a CD on an Alpha VMS system which can be mounted on another
 Alpha system to restore VMS files.

 The Answer is :

  If the OpenVMS Wizard understands the question, create a
  disk partition using a tool such as LD, INITIALIZE, and
  construct its contents as desired, then use one of the
  available CD-R recording tools to transfer the contents
  of the partition to the CD-R drive and to CD-R media.

  For details on writing CD-R media and associatged pointers,
  please see the OpenVMS FAQ. (OpenVMS Alpha V7.3-1 includes
  the LD partitioning tool and CD-R tools.)

  For details on creating a bootable environment, please see
  the OpenVMS documentation available for the tool:

    @SYS$SYSTEM:AXPVMS$PCSI_INSTALL_MIN.COM

  For details on using INITIALIZE, BACKUP or COPY, please see
  the OpenVMS documentation kit.

  For details on creating PCSI-based installation kits, please
  see the PCSI documentation.
