With much runabout, I found out from DEC that the CFFF format is the
same format used by the LN03. There is a document available from DEC
entitled something like "Font Users Manual" EK-CFFFM-UG for $21 that
has all of the information on that format. Also look in SYS$LIBRARY
in the VWS include files for structs that document these files
further. It is not a pretty sight. The native format is a proprietary
compiled version of the CFFF format. DEC has no publicly available
utilities for the creation, editing or manipulation of CFFF fonts that
I know of (if only). In fact, the ones shipped with VWS are (in source
form) Bliss files full of numerical data that DEC compiles and
links/system! They consider all examples, source, CFFF, and compiled
as the property of DEC, proprietary and copyrighted (figure that
out...).
