SWING is a VMS tool that graphically displays a users directory
tree on a terminal. It allows a user to see a directory structure from
a higher perspective. Users are used to seeing a directory structure as
a series of mazes rather than a tree of subdirectories for easy and
organized storage of files. This tool will help users to keep track of
the organization of a project's directory and in defining the structure
of a directory at project startup. SWING can also be handy when it is
necessary to look into an unfamiliar directory. SWING is capable of
doing the following:

o SET DEFAULT by moving from node to node with the arrow keys
and exiting SWING when the current node is the directory
         desired.

      o Rename a subdirectory.

o Interactively create a new subdirectory.

o Interactively move a subdirectory structure to a new position,
         with all of its children.

o Interactively delete a tree structure - each node blinks and
then disappears as it is deleted.

o Create hardcopy of the current directory structure.

o Create a "binary save file" so the whole directory doesn't have
to be searched each time SWING is used.

SWING is located on nodes SB1, SB2 and SB3. To use it simply type
the following at a VMS prompt:

      $ SWING
