BHunt the wumpus is a game in which you attempt to locate and slay3the dreaded wumpus before he finds and devours you. BWumpi live in subterranian caverns consisting of 32 chambers andBdozens of interconnecting passages. They spend most of their livesBsleeping; however, should an unfortunate hunter blunder into aBchamber containing a sleeping wumpus the wumpus will quickly wakeup and eat him. BScattered through the caves are bottomless pits. If you fall intoa pit you are lost forever.t eBSuper bats also live in the caves. Like wumpi, super bats spendBmost of their lives asleep; however, should you wake one up (byBentering its chamber) the bat will show its displeasure by pickingByou up and dropping you in some random chamber, then going off tohide.u aBWumpi are not bothered by pits or bats because they have sucker, feet and are far to heavy for a bat to lift. hBAccompanying you on your journey into the wumpus' lair is a trustyBlocal guide. Unfortunately local guides in this part of the world=are not too bright, and can only provide limited information. eBAt each step of the way the guide will tell you what chamber youBare in, which chambers are connected to yours and whether a wumpusB("I smell a wumpus"), bottomless pit ("I feel a draft") or superBbat ("bats nearby") is within two chambers of where you currentlyare. eBAt each step of the way you can do two things. You can move to anyBchamber connected to the current chamber by typing "m xx", whereB"xx" is the number of the chamber to which you wish to move. IfByou feel you know where the wumpus is hiding you may shoot a magicBarrow at it by typing "s xx", where "xx" is a list of up to threeinterconnected caverns.s "BThe wise hunter will not recklessly use up his arrows because ifBhe shoots all ten without slaying the wumpus his death is certainBand if an arrow misses the wumpus will hear it (wumpi have acute%hearing) and move to another chamber.e c
