Verbatim PIPE.L This software package was found on a Freeware CD under the name DCL_PIPE. L The original author, Ken Wallewein, has done, in my opinion, a very goodL job in terms of the software layout and I found it extremely convenient toL further extend the original package. In 1998, I renamed it VPIPE (verbatimL because the arguments are passed "as-is") so it would not clash withL OpenVMS 7.* added PIPE command. Finally, due to some demand (yes, peopleL seem to browse my freeware help library), I've decided to release that9 modified and extended version and to further support it.L This distribution contains only the EXECutables for DUPS NOCRTL STEM STEMSL and WIDE. The Alpha executables were converted using VEST and the originalL VAX EXE distributions provided in the freeware CD. Although, VPIPE is* mainly based on DCL scripts and commands.	Install :--------; o Copy all the present files to a safe location, let's say sys$common:[vmsapps.pipe].A o Define system wide the logical PIPE to pint to that directory.1 o Define VPIPE command as one of the following :2 $ VPIPE :== @PIPE:PIPE.COM """	! In SYLOGIN.COM K Copy VPIPE.COM to DCL$PATH. The first time one would use the VPIPE symbol would define the above symbol.4 o Insert VPIPE.HLP in the appropriate help library.Author------. Original author Ken Wallewein <kew@kmsi.net>.K This package is supported by Jerome Lauret <jlauret@mail.chem.sunysb.edu>.C Please, send me email if you have any problem and/or suggestions.
