I found an online Latin dictionary at http://lysy2.archives.nd.edu which
gives:

decus: grace; ornament; glory; splendor; beauty; virtue, honor; dignity,
decorum;

tutamen:

means of protection;

which leads me to think of implications of beatiful armour; protective
shield and so on.
