        Not 0.9.4, but 0.9.3A.  I do believe others have been successful
    with 0.9.4...

        Have you been sure to  get  and  apply Richard Levitte's patches
    for  the OSU SSH Server?  For example, you definitely need the files
    from the  [.PATCHES.OSU-SSHD.014A3]  directory  to  build  the  most
    current  version  of the SSH Server.  [Caveat: here I mean the 1.4A3
    version of the SSH  Server.   Dave  Jones  has just released a 1.4A4
    version for which the patches may, or may not, be entirely correct.]

        I've  had  no  trouble  whatsoever   with  FISH  across  OpenSSL
    (and SSLeay) releases.
